Fragile, beautiful, elegant, tasty, precious and fragrant. Life is never ending, always changing and ever present. The amount of beauty within is up to the people that cherish and take hold of it and breathe in deeply the air that surrounds it.
To be a part of this beautiful thing called life is to live, to love, to cherish and to never forget the people, the places and especially the moments that are all beautiful facets of you. “Vanitas for Noela” are a collection of photographs that are based on the collection of old recipes my nan (Noela) has kept from many times in her life, she has shared with us (her family) her love of baking, stories from the past, her love of Pop and her kids and grandkids. I have collected things from my visits over the past few months and stitched them together with memories, stories and beautiful times with special people. I have embroidered the hearts of all of my family and close friends and shared the life of a beautiful woman in all of our lives.

These still life images are the beginning of an ongoing project that I hold very dear to my heart. I am excited to take this further and will keep updating it’s progress….
